Balcony cabin

A cabin with a private outdoor balcony, the most popular choice on many ships.

Balcony cabin

A balcony cabin, called a verandah on some lines, has a sliding door to a private outdoor space with a couple of chairs and a small table. It gives you fresh air, a view and a quiet place for morning coffee or for watching the ship come into port. Balconies vary in size, and some on aft decks are larger. On scenic itineraries such as Alaska, the Norwegian fjords or the Greek Isles, a balcony adds a great deal. On busy, port-heavy cruises you may use it less.

Example

We watched the ship sail into Santorini's caldera from our balcony.

Floreo tip

Ask about aft-facing balconies. They are often larger, with wide views of the wake, though they can be a longer walk from everything else.
