Who this line suits
Celebrity suits couples, friends and grown-up families who want a modern, design-led ship, good food and a calmer pace than the biggest family ships. Its Edge Series ships, including Celebrity Beyond and Celebrity Ascent, are the main Caribbean choices in this collection.
Who might look elsewhere
Families who want waterslides and character experiences will get more from Royal Caribbean, Carnival or Disney. Travellers who want no children on board should look at Virgin Voyages.
On board
On Edge Series ships, Celebrity lists 32 restaurants, bars and lounges, the Rooftop Garden, the multi-deck Sunset Bar and the Grand Plaza. Sea days centre on the pool, the spa and dinner rather than thrill rides.
What the fare covers
Celebrity sells an optional fare called All Included. According to its FAQ, it combines the cruise fare with Basic Wi-Fi and the Classic Drink Package for everyone in the stateroom, and the drink package's gratuities are part of that. Onboard staff gratuities are charged separately. Retreat suite guests on All Included get the Premium Drink Package and Premium Wi-Fi instead. Celebrity says All Included can be chosen for inside, ocean view, veranda, Concierge Class and AquaClass staterooms.
Cabins
Edge Series ships introduced the Edge Stateroom with Infinite Veranda. Unlike a conventional balcony with a door to a separate outside deck, the window wall opens at the touch of a button so the whole room becomes the veranda. Celebrity lists 243 square feet of total living space including a 42 square foot veranda area. If you want to sit outside in a separate space while someone sleeps, a conventional veranda or a suite may suit you better.

From an advisor
Compare Celebrity fairly. If you choose the All Included fare, drinks and basic Wi-Fi are covered, but daily staff gratuities are still separate, so add them when you compare totals with another line.
