Who this line suits
Virgin Voyages suits adults who want a modern, social ship with no children on board. Its Caribbean sailings start in Miami and San Juan.
Who might look elsewhere
Families cannot sail. Travellers who want traditional formal nights or a very quiet evening may prefer Celebrity.
What the fare covers
Virgin's what's-included page lists access to its 20-plus eateries, a soda and essential drinks package, Wi-Fi, group fitness classes and entertainment. Its guide to what costs extra says alcohol and faster premium Wi-Fi are add-ons, and some premium items cost extra, so not every item in every venue is free.
Gratuities
This changed recently. Virgin's VoyageFair Choices FAQ says that starting 7 October 2025 a daily service gratuity is applied to each sailor's onboard account, or can be prepaid before the voyage. Virgin says it does not add extra gratuities to drinks, spa services or dining. Its own guide answers "Are gratuities included?" with no, as of that date. Older articles that say tips are included are out of date.
Cabins
Virgin lists five cabin types: Insider, Sea View, Sea Terrace, RockStar Quarters and Mega RockStar Quarters. Its cabin guide says most sailors choose a Sea Terrace, its balcony cabin; most, but not all, have a hammock. Some Sea Terraces have limited views and layouts vary, so check the deck plan for the exact cabin.
On board
There is no buffet in the traditional sense; you choose between restaurants each night. Short Miami sailings include The Beach Club at Bimini.
Ships in this collection
Scarlet Lady (four and five nights from Miami) and Valiant Lady (Southern Caribbean from San Juan in its Caribbean season). Resilient Lady appears in a sourced Miami example but is not yet profiled.
