Scarlet Lady suits adults who want a modern, social ship with no children on board. Virgin Voyages calls it the line's first ship. Its current Caribbean sailings start in Miami, and the line's ship page lists short itineraries such as Key West and The Beach Club at Bimini over four nights, and Puerto Plata, Cozumel or Grand Turk with Bimini over five nights.

Who might look elsewhere

Families with children cannot sail. Travellers who want traditional formal nights or a quiet, low-key evening may find the atmosphere livelier than they expect.

Virgin's model is to include more in the fare than many lines, and to replace a single main dining room with a choice of restaurants. Check the current list of what is included on your sailing, since inclusions and promotions change.

Cabins and planning

Virgin's cabin guide lists Insider, Sea View, Sea Terrace, RockStar Quarters and Mega RockStar Quarters, and says most sailors book a Sea Terrace, its balcony cabin. Most Sea Terraces have a hammock, but not all, and some have limited views, so check the exact cabin on the deck plan. On a short cruise, many couples are happy with a Sea Terrace; RockStar Quarters add perks worth comparing if you plan to spend time in the cabin.

What is included and what is extra

Virgin's guide says dining at its eateries, basic Wi-Fi, fitness classes, essential drinks and entertainment are part of the fare, while alcohol, premium Wi-Fi and some premium items cost extra. Since 7 October 2025, a daily service gratuity applies, with no extra tips on drinks, dining or spa.
