Nonstop from Anchorage, AK

We have partial nonstop coverage for Anchorage. What's below is verified, but it is not the full picture, so treat it as a starting point rather than a complete list. An advisor can confirm what actually flies from ANC.

Anchorage holds about forty percent of Alaska's population on a strip of flat land between an inlet and a mountain range, which means moose walk through neighborhoods and nobody finds it worth mentioning. It is not a beautiful city. It is an extremely useful one. Most people treat it as a staging post for Denali, Seward or a cruise, and that is fair. But the Chugach range begins at the eastern edge of town, and you can be above the treeline forty minutes after leaving your hotel. June and July give you nineteen hours of daylight. September brings the colors and the aurora returns. Winter is dark, cold and much cheaper, and the northern lights are the reason to accept all three.

Advisor tip

The Alaska Railroad's summer season is short, and the Coastal Classic to Seward and the Denali Star both sell out, particularly the glass-domed cars. If the train is part of the plan it gets booked before the hotels do. Most of Alaska's summer lodging works the same way, which is why this is a trip that rewards deciding early.
